Blogger Kimberly Lapides of eat/sleep/wear and interior designer Anne Sage know a thing or two about aesthetics. So when the two came together to update and design Kimberly’s master bedroom, it’s no surprise that the result is super Instagram-friendly.
Kimberly wanted a zen feeling and “a place to sneak away and read a book, to relax cozy in bed with a movie, or to wake up and enjoy a little sun kissed meditation,” she explains. Still, both Kim and Anne were aware that Kim’s living space is an extension of her brand and her work, and therefore needed to be both a place of rest and an appropriate backdrop for blog and Instagram shoots if need be.
Anne did a fantastic job creating a bedroom that is a restful and relaxing without sacrificing style or aesthetics. “I love how this space feels when you walk into it. There’s a breeziness to it and a perfect balance of restraint and retreat. This is a room where you can clear your mind and feel present—exactly what a bedroom should be,” she told MyDomaine.
Take a peek at Kimberly’s cool, chic master bedroom update:
Kim wanted a king-size bed, which left little room for side tables. These small Lulu and Georgia tables were a perfect solution — just enough space for a book, pair of glasses and maybe a water. Floating sconces on either side of the bed eliminate the need for table lamps, too.
Kim’s dog Lola is a big fan of her new master bedroom, too.
I actually love that there is actually a TV in the master bedroom… I feel like so often this is a big design “taboo” and few rooms actually feature one. But it’s realistic!
Small vignettes and moments like this stack of coffee table books and perfume add interest and personality to the space.
This leaning mirror provides a perfect #ootd spot for a lifestyle blogger, no?
Mmm, yeah, I could definitely meditate in this sunny little nook.
